Low carbon commute and travel
Free shuttle
MIPIM offers free shuttle from hotels located outside Cannes to the Palais des Festivals. 44 hotels will be served from early Morning to late night in Mandelieu - La Napoule, Cannes la Bocca, Le Cannet, Juan-les-Pins, Antibes - Sophia Antipolis, Mougins, Nice - St Laurent du Var and Cannes.
Low carbon travel
We are happy to shine a spotlight on our social media on delegates using low-carbon means of transport, including associations cycling to Cannes from London, Paris and Luxembourg which make an impressive contribution to cutting the carbon footprint.
Eco-conscious cocktails
MIPIM is also the time for informal gathering and networking. This includes events organized by MIPIM and events organized by our clients in the Palais des Festivals and everywhere in Cannes. MIPIM-organized cocktails will be vegetarian and pescatarian only. Our other closed-door events including a seated meal won't have any red meat. If you're organizing a cocktail, our listed caterers can provide you with nice vegetarian options as well.
Decarbonising the industry
Road to Zero
2,500 exhibiting companies will present the most sustainable and innovative projects in all exhibition areas of MIPIM. MIPIM has launched in 2023 the Road to Zero initiative that combines exhibition, networking and conference space with a focus on groundbreaking methods to decarbonise the real estate industry.
Road to Zero Alliance
As part of the ongoing decarbonisation journey for the industry, MIPIM has signed up to the “Road to Zero Alliance” of high-profile businesses, including PWC and real estate investment trust Icade, to take faster, more effective action.
MIPIM Awards
The winners of the MIPIM Awards 2024 will all have one thing in common: a holistic commitment to sustainability. From a consideration of construction and operational carbon, to climate and life cycle concerns, prizes will go chiefly to projects that best serve their end-users and wider communities while making a contribution to the economy.
PEFC certified paper
The paper used for MIPIM publications comes from sustainably managed forests, guaranteed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). Using PEFC certified paper provides assurance that the wood fibre used in the production process originates in forests where sustainable forest management (SFM) practices are in place, such as harvesting and replanting for forest regeneration, conserving biodiversity and protecting the rights of forest workers.
The venue
The Palais des Festivals in Cannes has multiple certifications relating to sustainability, including key ISO standards on quality, environment, health & safety, and social responsibility. More recent wins include certifications for security and responsible event management.
The City of Cannes has joined forces for many years with the Palais des Festivals and several of the city’s leading hotels to address challenges relating to the environment and energy use. This resulted in the Palais Des Festivals being awarded the “Sustainable Innovative Destination” label in June 2023.

The measurement of MIPIM 2024's carbon footprint, with Climeet, will serve as a crucial step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability. By assessing the environmental impact of our event, we gain invaluable insights that inform strategic decisions aimed at reducing our carbon emissions in the future.
This data-driven approach allows us to establish clear pathways towards further reducing our carbon footprint and mobilizing stakeholders across the MIPIM community.
